Mexico - The Land Of The Aztecs And Mayas

Mexico is an immense country, bordered on the north by the United States of America, on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean, on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize and the Caribbean Sea, and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico.

Its topography is very diverse. The country is covered by two deserts, followed by a group of wide central plateaus with rolling hills and extensive valleys; volcanoes such as Popocatepetl  and Fuego de Colima rise up high into the air, and tropical rainforests stretch into the northern part of Guatemala which turn into a region of tropical savanna.

Mexico’s is home to a large diversity of flora.  You can find plants such as cactus, acacia, more than 50 species of pine, mahogany, ceiba and cypress, broad-leafed trees, palms, mangroves, figs, lianas, orchids and bromeliads can be found here.

Mexico is a country alive with hundreds of reptile species and more than 1,000 bird species, mammals and amphibians.  You can observe coyotes, foxes, bears, mountain lions, jaguars, bobcats, bats, spider and howler monkeys, tapirs, lizards, iguanas, alligators, crocodiles, snakes, blue whales, sharks, turtles, geese, cranes, quetzals, toucans, egrets, parrots, parakeets, macaws, hummingbirds, hawks and eagles.

This beautiful country was home to many civilizations, like the Zapotecs, Olmecs, Mayas and Aztecs who have left us several architectural wonders, an enormous wealth of culture, art, traditions and mystic places that invite you to be discovered.
